Ranked by Happy Cow as having the fastest growing vegan scene in the world, Warsaw’s plant-based sector has continued to gain traction. With no additional fanfare needed, here’s the magnificent seven that all need to know…

Bar Pacyfik

ul. Jakubowska 16

This historic, modernist villa features a secret courtyard garden complete with a magnificent greenhouse at its center. Inside, meanwhile, step inside a super cool world that looks arty and avant garde. On the menu: organic wines, new wave coffees, and food that runs from sea buckthorn laksa and Korean-style curry to tacos served with avocado tempura.

Leonardo Verde

ul. Poznańska 13

Located on Warsaw’s buzziest street, the brick interiors of Leonardo Verde look the part with large format graphic art and huge plants stored inside hefty mason jars. As for the food, the vegan pizzas are the main draw but the pastas – garnished with ‘parmesan sunflower’ – are equally impressive.

Lokal Vegan Bistro

ul. Krucza 23/31

Arguably the best-known vegan restaurant in Warsaw, LVB continues to set the pace with a regularly changing menu that does a stonking job of reimagining and then veganizing junky, comfort food favorites. Given a nutritious, health-forward makeover, the last few months alone have seen the successful reinvention of Philly cheese-steak, curry wraps, gyros and Ruben sandwiches.

Tel Aviv

ul. Poznańska 11

A thundering force for good, Tel Aviv lift vegan food to new heights with their menu of plant-based Israeli food and organic, eco-wines. Walking the line between funky hangout and bona fide restaurant, it’s a challenge not to fall in love with dishes such as cream of beetroot and raspberry soup.

Vegan Ramen Shop

ul. Finlandzka 12A

Festooned with cute Japanese props resting on dozens of ‘levitating shelves’, this cult hangout marches from strength-to-strength thanks to their complex bowls of restorative goodness.

Youmiko Vegan Sushi

ul. Hoża 62

Found in the heart of Warsaw’s “vegan square mile”, words cannot do Youmiko justice – the flavors here are mind-blowing, and best enjoyed as part of a tasting menu that takes you through the highs and even highers that this restaurant offers.
